Sumera Shaikh is a graduate student in the Higher Education program. She is specializing in Education Policy and is interested in how policy and law impact education at the state and federal levels. Sumera completed her undergraduate studies at George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Studies, with her concentration in Liberal Arts for the Teaching Professions. Sumera currently works as an Instructional Coordinator for College Steps at Northern Virginia Community College. She will also be completing her practicum this semester with George Mason's First Gen+ center where she will be focusing on federal policy.

Sumera will graduate with her MA in Higher Education and Student Development in May 2023.
