Michael Perini recently co-authored “Research and Preparation for Academic Professionalism: The Role of Academic Librarian” in The Journal of the World Universities Forum.
This article reflects upon the academic professional productivity of doctoral students. Many doctoral students considering a career in academe will be expected to enter the job market with presentations and publications on their CV. Within the confines of curricular and program designs, though, such prospects are not always addressed. Nevertheless, collaborative opportunities exist around campus. The article specifically considers the role academic librarians may play in working with students and faculty in order to enhance doctoral student output.
The article stems from an independent study conducted under the supervision of Dr. Jamie Lester in fall 2012. The project has thus far produced three poster sessions, a presentation, and this article.
