HEP Alum Receives Education Leadership Award

In June 2021, Michael Johnson, HEP alum (MAIS, 2011) and Chief of Staff of the University of Houston, was awarded the 2021 McInnes/Ryan Award for Mid-Career Higher Education Leadership at the American Association of University Administrators (AAUA) Annual Leadership Conference.

About the Award. This award recognizes individuals who have been in higher education administration between five and fifteen years and who have demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout their careers.  The award is named for William McInness and Edmund Ryan, who were both career administrators and early members of AAUA.

About AAUA. The mission of the American Association of University Administrators is to develop and advance superior standards for the profession of higher education administration.  Through its policy statements, programs, and services, the Association emphasizes the responsibility of administrators, at all levels, to demonstrate moral and ethical leadership in the exercise of all their duties.
