MAIS/Concentration in COMMUNITY COLLEGE TEACHING
The Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Students concentration in Community College Teaching qualifies students to teach entry-level courses at the instructor level, at two-year colleges. In addition, this MA concentration is an appropriate graduate degree from some faculty currently teaching in community colleges. The current discipline areas are communication, English, information systems, mathematics, psychology, Spanish, and teaching English as a second language. Candidates for the MAIS/CCT degree must successfully complete 36 credits of graduate course work, including the following:
- 21 credits in a single discipline(discipline determines requirements, electives)
- CTCH 601, 602, 603, and
- CTCH 885—Teaching Internship
- MAIS 797 Proposal Writing (1 credit)
- MAIS 798 Project (2 credits)
