Michael Perini Publishes Article on Problems Student Affairs Professionals Face in Higher Education
Doctoral candidate Michael Perini recently published “Lessons from the dojang: Student Affairs Issues from the Perspective of the Martial Arts” in The International Journal of Interdisciplinary Educational Studies. The article is a personal narrative reflecting on a variety of problems facing student affairs professionals in higher education. Drawn from the experiences that the author gained in his nearly twenty years of instruction and competition in martial arts, the piece is a non-traditional representation of academic writing but displays an interdisciplinary approach to practical problem solving.

The paper is the culmination of an independent study project completed in the spring of 2013 under the supervision of Dr. Todd Rose.
