Mary Beth Marklein, a student in the Education PhD program with a concentration in Higher Education, had a paper proposal accepted for presentation at the 6th Engaging with Vietnam: An Interdisciplinary Dialogue Conference. The conference, which “promotes the study of Vietnam and dialogue between diverse communities of Vietnam scholars inside and outside Vietnam,” will be held Nov. 5-7 at the University of Oregon. Marklein’s submission, entitled "The good, the bad and the ugly: U.S. policy and politics in Vietnam higher education reform," is based in part on research she conducted in spring 2014 as part of an independent study. Marklein’s co-presenter is Dr. Mai Van Tinh.
